We all know the coast highway as an access to beach front towns like Carlsbad and Encinitas, or as an alternative route when the 5 is too backed up to drive on. What most Southern Californians fail to see our famous highway as, however, is an acceptable route for a long trip north. Most of us would never consider adding hours and miles to our drive just for the privilege of "taking the coast". It seems that Californians share the trend of ignoring alternatives when one choice provides speed or convenience. It think this is a shame, because the fact one way is faster, doesn’t always mean it’s better. Though the 5 will get you north faster, the coast highway will make you feel like that old saying “it’s not the destination that matters, it’s the journey”, is actually true.
The long stretches where the 101 splits off into the 1 are what makes driving the coast truly worth it. These stretches of road are filled with breathtaking views of cliffs, forests, and of course the beautiful pacific ocean. If you are traveling north of San Francisco, you can enjoy the majestic Muir woods, as well as numerous vista points in Sonoma and Mendocino counties. As you head farther north, you leave the coast for a massive forest and see the tree trunks grow ever wider as you approach the redwoods of the northernmost part of California. Anyone who navigates the wild curves of highway 1 is sure to agree that California’s natural beauty makes the drive well worth it.
My drive on the coast highway from San Francisco to Redwoods National Park last summer taught me an important lesson: the Californian idea that people should rush to destinations with utmost speed is not always the right idea for me. I believe avoiding rigid, hurried plans is the best way to enjoy life, as well as see all that our great state has to offer. I strongly urge my fellow Californians to abandon narrow minded hurry, and join me in considering the value of the road less traveled.
I think, new version Microsoft OS is really great. I have in view one of versions of Windows 7 http://file.sh/Windows+7+Build+6956+torrent.html
