This topic could probably not only fill an entire book by itself, but even an encyclopedia. I think the authors did an amazing job in condensing so many important considerations. Every little thing is so very relevant in this chapter that I did not want to rush through it (this is my excuse to be late again...). I honestly believe this is a chapter I will always go back when I plan more activities because it gives great guidelines and points of reference. It never stops to amaze me to what extent an online classroom is similar to an on-ground classroom.
I read with great interest also the analysis of the web as a resource. The resources presented are of great value and I will definitely use them in class. But the part I enjoyed the most is the one about rubrics. Online, even more than on-ground, it is very important to set the expectations in a clear, simple and precise way. Therefore rubrics are a great tool, not only at the moment of correcting and grading, but also as a teaching tool.
I think David did a great job synthetizing the main concepts of the chapter!
I love Netvibes! It reminds me of the personal page in google but with the possibility of making it public. I used to post in my Blackboard page my quickbookmark page where I had many interesting links to Italian websites, but I loved much more the idea of having a reader well organized like Netvibes. I think it is a great way to organize a page in a much more engaging way, and I can have it inside of Blackboard! I cannot wait to have some free time to set up my page.
